On Sunday, December 21st, 2025, we headed out to see the Christmas light-up in Jarvis, Ontario. We left home around 6:30 pm, excited despite the cold and reached Jarvis in just about an hour. As soon as we entered the town, we found ourselves moving slowly through the bright and glowing lanes of Jarvis where cars crawled in both directions so everyone could enjoy the lights.

This time of the year, Jarvis truly earns its name “Winter Wonderland.” For those who are not aware, during this special contest, residents and local businesses in Jarvis come together to decorate their homes and storefronts with festive lights, turning the entire town into a joint celebration. My daughter couldn't hold herself and jumped out to take some funny pictures with giant snowmen and Grinch themed decorations in excitement though shivering in the cold. Every street felt alive with color and warmth.

One highlight was the Tim Hortons with a huge lighted coffee cup that was visibly some 10 to 15 feet tall, standing at their entrance. We stopped for some hot coffee and donuts, which felt perfect on such a chilly night.

We drove through streets marked “Winter Wonderland” and neighboring lanes and later drove through Marly Cres. Along the way we noted hoardings that read, Jarvis is the kindest town in Canada and honestly, it felt true. Looking at the beautifully decorated homes, we could not help but wonder how this small town came together to create something so special. It felt like a true community effort, done not for attention but to spread joy and invite people from nearby cities to experience their Christmas and holidays spirit.

After clicking pictures and recording videos, we began our drive back and stopped at Plank Road Taps & Grill at Hagersville, for dinner. We enjoyed the creamy garlic shrimp linguine pasta, hot potato kegs, chicken flatbread, and warm lava cake that tasted even better after a cold evening outdoors while soft music played in the background.

We reached home by 11:45 pm a bit cold but happy and excited to welcome the holidays. The night was bright not just with lights but giving out the message that kindness and togetherness can turn an ordinary town into something truly magical.
